This is actually a S-43 painted in U.S. Marine Corps colors.  The S-43 is the civilian version of the JRS-1.  There is only one surviving JRS-1, it is in Virginia.  The S-43 was known as the “Baby Clipper” and was used primarily for flights between the United States and Cuba and within South America.
