New Mexico

As I write this (2018), New Mexico has been my home for a decade.  In the early 1960’s I lived in Orchard Park (no longer exists) and Roswell, in the southeastern part of the state.  I finished elementary school in the schools of Dexter and Roswell, New Mexico - so that part of my life in New Mexico is well in the past and is represented by memories rather than photographs.

Because southern New Mexico is my “home patch” now, I have a fair amount of material, both video and photographs, from this area.  To make access to that material a bit more easy I have divided the material from New Mexico as follows:

  • Northern New Mexico - this section of the website covers the major metropolitan areas of the north, Albuquerque and Santa Fe, as well as the various cultural sites in the area.  There are separate pages and photo galleries for Albuquerque and Santa Fe (nested in this section of the site);
  • Southern New Mexico - this section of the states starts roughly at Socorro and covers the area south of there.  There is a  separate page for the Potrillo Volcanic Field (nested in this section of the site);
  • New Mexico Flora - this species listing and photo gallery lists the images (video and photo) which I have made of flora species within the state;
  • New Mexico Birds - this species listing and photo gallery lists the images (video and photo) which I have made of bird species within the state;
  • New Mexico Fauna (other than Birds) - this species listing and photo gallery lists the images (video and photo) which I have made of fauna within the state.

Of significance is the fact that I maintain a separate website about my home patch, the Black Range of New Mexico.  This site has an extensive amount of information about the cultural and natural history of that area.
